Applications for the annual scholarship provided by the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board are now available.

Beginning this year, the board is collaborating with the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley to process its scholarship applications, according to a press release about the scholarships.

Candidates for the scholarship must be a high school senior or a student currently enrolled in college, of Hispanic American descent, a resident of Aurora or a student at a school located in Aurora. In addition, applicants must also be in good academic standing with a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.

Scholarships will be offered to students who will attend an accredited institution of higher education on a full-time basis between July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019, according to the release.

The deadline for submission of a completed application is 4 p.m. Feb. 5. All applicants are asked to send a confirmation email to aurorahhab@gmail.com upon completion of the application.

Selected applicants will be notified by email on June 1, and the awards presentation will take place at the board’s annual Community Breakfast.
